Amcham Objectives
- To promote the association of business people concerned with trade and investment with the USA.
- To promote the development of mutually prosperous and amicable economic, social and commercial relationships between New Zealand and the USA.
- To make available information concerning existing or projected laws affecting USA interests in New Zealand and New Zealand interest in the USA.
- To represent and express the opinion of the business communities in New Zealand and the USA on questions of trade, commerce, finance, industry and taxation.
- To make available statistical and other information concerning matters of business, financial or professional interest. To provide a reference library and data bank.
- To advise on sources of commercial information.
- To encourage the highest standards of USA commercial practice by USA firms in New Zealand. To maintain the ethical reputation of the United States business community.
- To lend all practical assistance to New Zealand members seeking to enter the USA market or wishing to develop activities in the USA.
- To assist United States companies to enter the New Zealand market, preferably in conjunction with AmCham members.
- To participate in key events and services of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States, with over 200,000 business and several thousand trade and professional associations.
- To research and present the business views of members to governments in Wellington and Washington.
- To encourage a better understanding of the benefits of foreign direct investment in New Zealand.
