Building robust strategy in the age of disruption

Don't' get UBER'd – how, for better or worse, insurgent strategies will change your business forever

72% of CEOs believe that their current business model will be obsolete within 5 years, yet only 24% of organisations claim to develop strategies that adequately address disruptive change in their marketplace.  Traditional approaches to strategy design and execution are too linear, too inwardly focused and too inflexible to deal with the rapid pace of change in your industry.  This session will explore the difference between insurgent and incumbent approaches to strategy design & execution, the flaws associated with incumbent strategy design and how incumbents (at least the ones that wish to survive) can apply insurgent methods to build dynamic outside-in strategies.  Drawing on our experience in helping organisations across multiple industry sectors to navigate and instigate disruptive change, we will share with you highly practical methods and case examples that you can apply to your strategy process to improve your market position and enhance the resilience of your business for the long term.

This program will help you understand and unlock the key constraints preventing your organisation from achieving your aspirations through a highly interactive mix of discussion and case learning built on a strong foundation of core principles and methods.  We will help you integrate your thinking across multiple disciplines including strategy formulation, strategy management, innovation, leadership, change management and shared value.

Who should attend?

·         Organisational leaders responsible for successful strategy execution including:
CEOs, CFOs, COOs, CIOs, Presidents, Board members, General Managers, and Executive Leadership Teams

·         Vice Presidents, Directors of Strategy Management and Line of Business Leaders

·         Any person responsible of plan development and/or delivery. That includes corporate strategy, BU strategy, Sales plan, Marketing Plan, HR plan. Typically board members and top and middle managers would benefit greatly from this seminar.

Why you should attend? i.e. what you will learn (hook).

If your business exists in a stable, unchanging and predictable environment, this session is NOT for you.  If you are concerned about disruptive forces including technology change, emerging business models, non-traditional competitors, regulatory change and changing customer preferences this session will help you mobilise your organisation to turn your ability to cope with disruptive change into a distinctive capability and ultimately a competitive advantage.
