Cyber Security briefing with Mark Shaw, Technology Strategist, Symantec
Your IT environment is evolving rapidly with new devices and applications, and each new technology represents a new avenue of attack.
2013 was the year of the Mega Data Breach, with over 550 million records exposed. The number of targeted attacks increased by 91% in the last year, 38% of mobile users experienced mobile cybercrime in the past 12 months, whilst ransomware attacks grew 500% in 2013. None of us can eliminate the risks but there are steps that can be taken to improve your Cyber Resilience through technology, process and people.
During this session, Symantec security expert Mark Shaw will discuss key findings from the latest Internet Security Threat Report (ISTR) released in April, and highlight the steps that organisations can take to help minimise the risks against new and emerging threats. We’ll also discuss vulnerabilities and provide insight into:
What goes on behind a targeted attack and the general trends and behaviours you should be wary of?
What tools and tactics are organized hackers leveraging to gain access to confidential information?
