Patricia Hubbard, Head of ANZ Consulting , Gallup NZ
Patricia has over 15 years of experience working within the education sector and consulting. As a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach, she enjoys encouraging clients to build their talent and develop their leaders through learning. Patricia has worked with senior executives, boards and clients in the education, energy, healthcare, government, non-profit, and retail sectors.
Patricia previously worked in the education sector in the USA as a chief financial officer and business director. She has been in New Zealand since 2016 and is currently working with New Zealand based clients and on global projects. She leads strengths sessions, webinars, roundtable discussions, professional development workshops, training courses, and team-based learning sessions. Patricia frequently speaks at global conferences and local events on a variety of topics and research areas.
Patricia holds a degree in business management from Montana State University, USA, and an MBA from the University of Montana, USA.
Vanessa Sorenson, GPS ANZ Director and Managing Director NZ, Microsoft New Zealand
A passionate advocate for Aotearoa, Vanessa is responsible for ensuring Microsoft empowers all its customers and partners to achieve more.
Vanessa joined Microsoft in October 2017, after more than two decades at Spark, New Zealand’s largest telco. In her first role at Microsoft as Director of Enterprise, Sorenson was tasked with driving business growth, forging strong relationships, managing Microsoft’s large Enterprise sales team, and working closely with partners and key stakeholders. In April of 2020 Vanessa was appointed Managing Director of Microsoft New Zealand. Two years later she was promoted to Chief Partner Officer for Microsoft Australia and New Zealand. Alongside her new role Vanessa also kept her position as a New Zealand Country Lead.
Even with decades of tech experience, Vanessa doesn’t consider herself a ‘classic techie’ – rather she is driven by what technology can do for all New Zealanders. She is a noted champion of diversity and inclusion across the ICT industry, encouraging change, fostering diversity and inclusion, driven by the belief that D&I is not optional but essential.
Having carved out an extraordinary career that has included both wins and losses, Sorenson has committed herself to a lifetime of actively mentoring other businesswomen to become the best they can be.
Outside of work, Vanessa is passionate about education, championing equal access to technology for all children and encouraging girls to embrace STEM. She is married to Chris and together they have two children, Grace and Jack.
Dr Deepika Jindal is a Professional Teaching Fellow and Subject Group Lead for Management at the University of Auckland Business School.
She is also the Director of the Master of Business Management programme at the Business School. Deepika teaches Human Resource Management and related courses and is based within the Department of Management & International Business. Outside her role at the University, Deepika serves as Branch President of the Academic Branch of Human Resources New Zealand and an Auckland Branch committee member. She also recently joined as committee member of Women in Business Chapter of American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand. Prior to joining academia, she worked in an Indian manufacturing conglomerate, for over a decade, in their Corporate HR department.
