27th September 2020 The focus of this year’s awards was success & resilience during the COVID19 pandemic. We were looking to recognize up to 6 companies, organisations, or individuals who could show resilience, ingenuity, had pivoted, and had been successful in growing relationships and business between the USA and NZ during these difficult times. There were no set categories, which meant that entrants were competing from a wide range of sectors including importing, exporting, investment, education, research/science, tourism, dealing with workforce issues, supply chains, and creative sectors. Some of the key messages that came out of the entries:

In 2000 the American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand introduced an annual awards event to celebrate success and innovation in business relationships with the USA. This event has now become a highlight of our year. With the current COVID19 pandemic affecting the world we have decided to change the 2020 awards to celebrate success and resilience in relations with the USA during these difficult times.There are no set categories. We are looking to recognize 5 or 6 companies, organisations, or individuals who shown resilience, ingenuity, have re-pivoted, and have been successful in growing relationships/business between the USA and NZ this year. This can be covering Importing, Exporting, Investment, Education, Research/Science, Tourism, Dealing with Workforce issues, Supply chains, and Creative sectors. A successful applicant will demonstrate their success across these dimensions, in ways of their choosing, but showing how they have overcome the challenges.
