Bio
Cameron is an M&A and Corporate Finance professional. He provides specialist advice on mergers & acquisitions, takeovers and equity capital markets transactions, including advising on joint ventures, restructuring transactions, financing, IPO's and corporate governance.
Cameron regularly advises leading private and listed companies, financial institutions and private equity firms. He has extensive experience in the New Zealand market, as well as in New York and London where he worked for Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP, one of the world’s premier law firms, advising clients on complex cross-border transactions, including senior secured credit facilities, leveraged finance / HY bonds (144A / Reg S), spin-offs and mergers & acquisitions. He has also worked as an investment banker in Credit Suisse’s market leading Leveraged Finance team in London.
Cameron is currently Deputy Chair of the board of Athletics New Zealand (board member since 2012, Deputy Chair from January 2014 – present). He was admitted to the bar in New York (2002) and New Zealand (1998). He is often invited to speak at international conferences on corporate finance and M&A.
Prior to embarking on his legal career, Cameron was an international athlete and competed at the Olympic Games, World Track & Field Championships, NCAA Championships and World Junior Championships.
He holds an M.B.A. in Finance from London Business School, an LL.B. (Hons) from the University of Auckland Law School, and a B.A. in Economics and B.B.A. in Finance from SMU in Dallas, Texas.
Cameron has broad experience spanning numerous industries and has acted for some of the world’s leading corporations, including BAE Systems, DreamWorks, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, J.P.Morgan, Lindsay Goldberg, Morgan Stanley, Royal Dutch Shell, Time Warner and Unilever.
